Genie opener logic board repair in Las Vegas typically runs $120 to $320 installed, and we usually have the board on the truck to fix it the same day. The logic board is the plastic circuit panel inside your Genie powerhead that acts as the brain of the opener. If your Genie opener has stopped responding to remotes, started opening on its own, or just sits there dead while the outlet has power, you’re likely looking at a failed logic board. Most Las Vegas homeowners discover this part has failed when the wall button works but nothing else does, or when the opener starts acting like it has a mind of its own.
You’ll get a written price before we touch a single bolt. That’s how we’ve worked since 2001, and Aaron Teague wouldn’t have it any other way.
Which Genie Models This Applies To
We service logic boards across the full Genie residential line: IntelliG, TriloG, SilentMax, PowerMax, ChainMax, StealthDrive, QuietLift, and most older screw-drive and belt-drive units still running in Las Vegas garages. The board inside your Genie powerhead has a model sticker on it, usually with a part number starting with a sequence like 38879, 36190, or 39342. That number matters because Genie changed board firmware across production years, and a board from a 2018 QuietLift won’t always talk to a 2021 wall console even though the connectors look the same.
That’s a real compatibility gotcha we see often: homeowners buy a used board on eBay, plug it in, and the opener still won’t respond because the firmware revision doesn’t match the wall console. For Genie specifically, we recommend OEM replacement boards when the unit is under ten years old. On older Genies where the OEM board is discontinued, we use tested aftermarket equivalents that match the exact voltage and harness layout. We also stock boards compatible with LiftMaster and Chamberlain units, since a lot of Las Vegas garages have a mix of brands across multiple doors.
Doyle Garage Doors Las Vegas is an independent service provider and is not affiliated with Genie or the Genie Company. We source parts through authorized distributors and test every board before it leaves our truck.

Signs Your Genie Opener Logic Board Is Failing
- Remote works intermittently, then quits entirely. The receiver circuit on the logic board degrades over time, especially after Las Vegas summer heat cycles. You replace batteries and reprogram, but the problem comes back. The board’s RF receiver chip is dying.
- Opener runs by itself or starts ghost-opening. A failing relay on the board can send voltage to the motor without any input. This is the symptom we tell people to take seriously immediately: disconnect the opener from power and call us. A garage door opening on its own is a security issue, not a quirk.
- Wall console works, remotes and keypad don’t. This isolates the problem to the receiver portion of the logic board. The motor, limit switches, and rail are fine. You’re still looking at a board replacement, not a full opener replacement.
- Opener is totally dead but the outlet has power. After ruling out the wall console and the safety sensor wiring, a dead board is the most common culprit. Genie boards have a small onboard fuse that can blow during a power surge, which Las Vegas gets during monsoon season.
- Opener loses its limits and force settings repeatedly. The board’s memory chip is failing. You reset the travel limits, it works for a week, then the door slams or reverses at the wrong spot again. That’s the board not remembering what you told it.

AfterReplacement Cost & What’s Included
Genie opener logic board replacement in the Las Vegas market runs $120 to $320 installed, parts and labor included. The spread depends on which Genie series you have and whether we’re installing an OEM board or a tested aftermarket equivalent. A QuietLift or IntelliG board is usually on the lower end of that range. An older screw-drive unit that needs a less common board lands higher. Newer Genie models with integrated Wi-Fi and camera support can push past the top end because those boards cost us more from the distributor.
Here’s what that price includes:
- The replacement board itself, OEM or tested aftermarket, matched to your specific Genie model and firmware revision.
- Labor to open the powerhead, remove the failed board, install the new one, and reconnect every harness.
- Reprogramming all remotes, keypads, and the wall console to the new board.
- Reset of travel limits and force settings so the door opens and closes correctly.
- A written 365-Day Done Right Promise on the repair: if the board fails within 365 days from the date of repair, we come back and make it right at no charge.
The price gets written down and handed to you before any work starts. No verbal estimates, no invoice surprise at the end. If we open the powerhead and find the board is fine but something else failed, we don’t proceed until you’ve seen the new price in writing and agreed to it. That’s the way we’ve done every job in Las Vegas since 2001.
DIY or Call Us?
You can safely check a few things before spending money. Confirm the outlet has power by plugging in a lamp. Check that the safety sensor eyes at the bottom of the door are aligned and not blocked, since a misaligned sensor stops the whole system. Make sure the opener’s power cord didn’t get yanked loose from the ceiling outlet when you were moving boxes. Those are safe, simple checks.
What we recommend against is opening the powerhead and swapping the board yourself. The board sits next to the motor and capacitor, which can hold a charge even after the unit is unplugged. Getting into the wrong spot on an energized board can shock you. If the opener runs while you’re inside the housing, you’re also near moving gears and the trolley carriage. Most Genie residential openers are direct-connect, not plug-and-play like a computer, and hooking up the wrong harness pin can fry a brand-new board. The firm-window trick of “just glance at the board” turns into touching the wrong thing faster than you’d think.
If your Genie opener is showing any of the symptoms above, call us at (725) 224-5155. We’ll tell you what we carry for your model and what it costs before we send anyone out.
FAQs
A Genie logic board typically lasts 8 to 12 years in a Las Vegas garage, sometimes less if the opener is not on a surge protector. Our heat, especially in unconditioned garages that hit 110°F regularly in July and August, accelerates capacitor and solder joint failure on the board. If your Genie is over a decade old and the board fails, we’ll give you an honest comparison between board replacement and a full opener replacement, since you’re near the end of the opener’s service life either way. Call (725) 224-5155 and we’ll walk you through the numbers.
Most of the time, no. We can occasionally replace a blown onboard fuse or reflow a cracked solder joint, but that repair rarely holds up more than a few months on a board that’s already heat-stressed. For what board-level repair costs in time versus a replacement board, replacement is almost always the better call. We’ll tell you if a repair is viable before spending your money on it.
Most Genie logic board replacements take 45 to 90 minutes, including reprogramming all remotes and keypads and resetting travel limits and force settings. If you have multiple Genie openers or an older unit with corroded harnesses, it can stretch a bit longer. You’ll get a firm time estimate when you call, and the price in writing before the work begins.
We keep the most common Genie boards for TriloG, SilentMax, QuietLift, and PowerMax units on our trucks because those cover most of what we see in Las Vegas garages. Less common boards for older screw-drive models or newer Wi-Fi-enabled units may require a trip to our local distributor, which usually adds a day. Call (725) 224-5155 with your model number and we’ll tell you before we come out whether we have it on hand.
We answer the phone day, night, weekends, and holidays. A real person picks up, not a voicemail tree. When you call about a Genie logic board, we’ll get your model number, tell you what we carry, and give you a written price range before the tech ever leaves our shop. You’ll know exactly what’s wrong, what it costs, and who’s coming to fix it – before we ever pull into your driveway.
